Complete name of this city: Ávila de los Caballeros
Ávila (Latin: Abila and Obila) is a town in the south of Old Castile, the capital of the province of the same name, now part of the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain.
It is renowned for Teresa of Avila, the Carmelite reformer who lived there; the Ávila city wall, which is the second-largest in the world and the Cathedral. Ávila is placed at 1.117 meters, the highest capital in Spain. This means a extreme climate, with very hard and long winters, and short summers.
In Ávila was born Tomás Luis de Victoria, the main musician of Spain.
