Alan Wray Tudyk (born March 16, 1971) is an American stage, film, and television actor. Born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Plano, Texas, Tudyk studied drama at Lon Morris College (winning the Academic Excellence award for Drama) and Juilliard.

In 1999, Tudyk made his Broadway debut in Epic Proportions. His film work include roles in Patch Adams (1998), 28 Days (2000), Wonder Boys (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), and I, Robot (2004).

Tudyk starred as Hoban "Wash" Washburne in the cult science-fiction/western television series Firefly, and reprises that role in the film Serenity (2005). His other television work has included appearances in Strangers with Candy, Frasier, and Arrested Development, and a role in the miniseries Into the West.

Tudyk has just finished starring in Spamalot for several months (from June 2005 to December 2005), filling in for Hank Azaria while he works on a new season of Huff and The Simpsons.

After Firefly was cancelled, Tudyk apparently threw a "Fox Broadcasting Company Doesn't Want Us Anymore" party for the cast and crew.
