BBC Kids
From Free net encyclopedia
Template:Infobox Network BBC Kids is a Canadian category 2 digital cable television channel aimed at children and teens, jointly owned by BBC Worldwide and Canadian broadcaster Alliance Atlantis. It airs British shows like Teletubbies, Top of the Pops and Canadian shows like the Magic School Bus, Polka Dot Shorts and Popular Mechanics for Kids. During late-night hours, it also airs episodes of the original seasons of Doctor Who.
While the BBC's children's brand is CBBC, presumably using that name in Canada would cause confusion with the CBC. Image:BBCK.gif As of early 2006, Alliance Atlantis has unveiled BBC K, a new branding for the evening block of programming on BBC Kids which is aimed towards an older audience. They have also launched a separate website making it appear as though BBC K is a separate channel similar to Nickelodeon/Nick@Nite in the United States.
