Barefoot in the Park

From Free net encyclopedia

Barefoot in the Park is a comedy play by Neil Simon, about a young couple and their odd neighbors in their small apartment building in Greenwich Village, New York. It explores the troubles the newlyweds face involving their surroundings and themselves. It was later made into a movie (in 1967), with the screenplay written by Simon, and starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford as the couple. Mildred Natwick played the role of Corie's (Fonda) mother and Charles Boyer played an eccentric neighbor living upstairs, named Victor Velasco.

Barefoot in the Park was also a short lived sitcom on ABC in the 1970-1971 TV season.

In 2006, the play was revived on Broadway with Amanda Peet and Patrick Wilson as the newlywed couple, and featured Tony Roberts and Jill Clayburgh.
