Brotherhood of Man

From Free net encyclopedia

Brotherhood of Man was a 70s British vocal group that won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 with "Save Your Kisses For Me". They borrowed the style and two-boy, two-girl approach from Swedish pop group ABBA, who had won Eurovision in 1974.

The group was formed by record producer / composer, Tony Hiller, and originally featured the well-travelled vocalist, Tony Burrows. They broke the voting record for Eurovision and sold well over 1 million copies of "Save Your Kisses For Me". After Eurovision, they had a number of hits in the UK, including two more chart-toppers, but long-term success proved to be elusive.

"Save Your Kisses For Me" was nominated as one of the final five finalists in the 50th anniversary Eurovision concert held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2005.
