Cap Classique

Cap Classique denotes a South African sparkling wine made by the traditional Champagne method.
South Africa adopted the term Cap Classique as part of their move away from using European place names for wine.
South Africa's first bottle-fermented sparkling wine was Simonsig Estate's Kaapse Vonkel (Cape Sparkle).
