The first Chinese Grand Prix took place on September 26, 2004, winner Rubens Barrichello with the second on October 16, 2005, winner Fernando Alonso.

The Chinese Grand Prix circuit, Shanghai International Circuit in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, is the most expensive Formula One circuit facility ever made, costing US$240 million.
