River Churnet

From Free net encyclopedia

(Redirected from Churnet)

The River Churnet rises in the Staffordshire moorlands near the Roaches. It flows through Tittesworth reservoir, down through Leek and then follows the line of the Caldon Canal before merging with it. It joins the River Dove to the south of Rocester.

A locomotive on the Rudyard Lake Steam Railway was so named because of its local importance. It ran in this form from 1993 to 2003 and is now called Excalibur.Template:Staffordshire-geo-stub
