Colver is a census-designated place located in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,035.
Geography
Colver is located at 40°32'35" North, 78°47'14" West (40.542992, -78.787314)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.2 km² (1.2 mi²). 3.2 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 1,035 people, 416 households, and 291 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 322.3/km² (837.3/mi²). There were 445 housing units at an average density of 138.6/km² (360.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.52% White, 0.10% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.29% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 416 households out of which 30.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.8% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 27.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.7 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $23,388, and the median income for a family was $28,421. Males had a median income of $30,114 versus $16,944 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $12,219. 17.1% of the population and 9.9% of families were below the poverty line. 30.1% of those under the age of 18 and 10.6% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
