Corinium Museum

From Free net encyclopedia

The Corinium Museum in the Cotswold town of Cirencester in England has a large collection of objects found in and around the locality. The bulk of the exhibits are Roman, but the museum includes material from as early as the Neolithic and right up to Victorian times.

The museum is famous for its fine collection of tessellated pavements (Roman mosaic floors) and other Roman objects, large and small.

The Corinium Museum reopened in June 2005, following major refurbishment funded by the Cotswold District Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund.Template:Ancient-Rome-stub Template:Museum-stub Template:UK-struct-stub
