Cum shot

(Redirected from Cum Shot)

Template:Unreferenced A cum shot, pop shot, money shot or venir dans la face is the record (on film or video or, less frequently, in some versions of Glamour photography) of a man ejaculating, usually onto a person or object. It is the cinematographer's indication that the sexual act recorded has concluded: the "climax" of the act coincides with the "climax" of the male, not unusually associated with the act of a blow job. Many pornography viewers fetishize the cum shot itself and use it on its own as a source of sexual entertainment. In order for this to be a visual representation, the pornographic actor must not indulge in the more usual sexual practice of ejaculating within a sexual partner (a creampie, discussed below).

History of the Cum Shot

When the cum shot was first popularized in pornography, it usually involved the man ejaculating in the general vicinity of the woman's vagina or on the small of her back depending on the sexual position. Nowadays, a cum shot is normally received on the face of the recipient (sometimes referred to as a facial). However vaginal, anal and breast cum shots are still commonplace - it must be noted that to be classified as a cum shot the semen must be clearly visible. A relatively new form of the "cum shot" has entered the pornographic scene with the advent of the creampie: a man ejaculates inside of his partner (either vaginally or anally), and the camera zooms in for a closeup of the semen dripping out.

An addition to the creampie is felching, in which the semen is allowed to drip out or is squeezed out of the orifice and then into a person's mouth, either directly or first into a container or onto an object from which it is then consumed.

Cum Shots in the Porn Industry

This movie slang is less accurately applied to the actor's ejaculation itself, as the "shot" in "cum shot" refers to the filming, or "shooting", of a motion picture scene.

The cum shot is quite common as the conclusion of a scene within pornographic movies. In fact, it is expected to such a degree that any scene that does not conclude with a cum shot will often draw suspicion that the actor involved was unable to peak. (Exceptions to this include softcore pornography, in which penetration is not depicted at all, and "couples erotica", which may involve penetration but is typically filmed in a more "discreet" manner intended to be romantic rather than graphic.) Cum shots are becoming increasingly more common on adult pay sites.

Variations on a Theme Cum Shot

Other variations of the cum shot exist typically involving objects or food onto which the semen is ejaculated or containers in which one or more cum shots are collected (either directly or from an orifice or the mouth of the partner) and then consumed. These methods are sometimes advertised as "cumsumption" (a portmanteau of "cum consumption") and similar to the Japanese gokkun practice.

The cum shot provides the viewer with a sense of realism, especially if the scene is filmed continuously from intercourse to cum shot. It also helps the viewer to determine the end of a scene. Often it is referred to as the money shot; this can refer either to the fact that the actors have finished their job and earned their money, or from the idea that it is the most important part of a scene.

The origin of the term "money shot" comes from the early days of filmed pornography. It was seen as an essential part of the movie that proved to the viewer that what they had just witnessed was an actual sex scene recorded on film. It is so called because of the perceived importance by early pornographic film makers that the shot "made" the film and therefore justified the cost of the film.
