Derby Heritage Centre

The Old Grammar School, St. Peter's Churchyard, Derby, England, is now the Derby Heritage Centre.

The Derby Heritage Development Trust hold meetings here, where they have an office. The Derby Heritage Society meet once per month in the main room of the Centre. The Trust is dedicated to preserving Derby's heritage, its historical buildings and culture.

The Reverend John Cotton, a principal New England Puritan figure and a founder of Boston, Massachusetts, was educated at the Grammar School (see the blue plaque).

It was established in 1992 by Richard Felix historian on popular LivingTV show Most Haunted and the is the starting point for Derby Ghost Walks. However in 2005 it was closed after Richard Felix was fined over £100,000 by Health and Safety officials who discovered mice and rat droppings in its kitchen. Although Richard maybe busy with his schedule with Most Haunted, Richard had to close the heritage centre to stop impending bankruptcy.
