Draft horse

Image:Draughthorses.jpg A draft horse, draught horse, or harness horse is a large, strong horse bred for heavy work rather than speed. Draft horses are commonly used for ploughing and farm labour in pre-industrial societies. They were also used to pull heavy delivery carts around towns , the shire also was one of the biggest horses known they hold the record=).
Today draft horses are also valued as riding horses. Their docile temperament and stamina (they are bred to work strenuously in the fields without tiring) means that they can also be suitable for trail and pleasure disciplines.
In medieval times, draft horses were often used as mounts for knights riding into battle. They were valued because of their ability to swiftly carry the knight and his armor as well as any armor the horse was to wear.
The availablility of showing for draft horses varies depending on the country. They may be suitable for entering into classes other than purely draft showing classes.
