Duncan II of Scotland
From Free net encyclopedia
Duncan II (Donnchad mac Maíl Choluim) (1060? – November 12, 1094) was king of Scotland and a son of Malcolm III and his first wife Ingibiorg and therefore a grandson of Duncan I.
For a time he lived as a hostage in the Kingdom of England and became king of the Scots after driving out his uncle, Donald III of Scotland, in 1093, an enterprise in which he was helped by some English and Normans. He was killed in the following year in the Battle of Monthechin. He was buried at Dumfermline Abbey, Fife.
