Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott (born Mark McDermott on 26th October, 1961) is an American actor, most famous for his role as lawyer and law firm head Bobby Donnell on the former TV legal drama The Practice.

He attended acting school at the Jesuit-run Fordham University in The Bronx and got his first break as an actor in the film In the Line of Fire. Through his connection with Clint Eastwood, McDermott was able to land his first major gig as The Practice.

People magazine named McDermott one of the 50 most beautiful people in 1998.

He is often confused with actor Dermot Mulroney.

Personal Life

McDermott was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and is the son of Richard "Mac" McDermott, ex-husband of Eve Ensler, who authored The Vagina Monologues, and the late Diane McDermott, both of whom were teenagers when he was born. McDermott is of Irish Catholic and Italian descent.

He married Iranian actress Shiva Rose on 19th November, 1995. They have two daughters - Colette (born circa 1996), and Charlotte Rose (born on 8th September, 2005).
