Euronaivism

Euronaivism, or Euronaïveté is a possible description, or caricature, of a political position with respect to the future of the European Union.
It may be respresented as a naïve political belief that the process of European integration will solve most of the problems of Europeans. It may imply that the process carries no risks, and that all citizens of the European Union want the whole Europe to benefit. The term is usually used pejoratively by eurosceptics and eurorealists.
The results of the European Parliament election, 2004, in many of the EU countries, may be represented as a noticeable vote against Euronaïve assumptions. The reasons may also vary from country to country. If Euronaivism was (at any time) to be equated with the idea that European-level politics were conducted without political process, and in the absence of opposition, this idea may no longer be tenable in the 25-member EU.
