Fareham is a local government district and borough in Hampshire, England. Its council is based in Fareham. Other places include Portchester, Stubbington, Hill Head, Titchfield, Warsash, Locks Heath and Sarisbury.
The present boundaries date to 1932 when the parishes of Crofton, Portchester, Sarisbury and Titchfield, all previously part of the Fareham Rural District were added to Fareham urban district. The district was accorded borough status in 1972 and was reconstituted as a non-metropolitan district by the Local Government Act 1972 on April 1, 1974.
