(Redirected from FastTCP)

FAST TCP is an abbreviation for Fast Active queue management Scalable Transmission Control Protocol, a TCP variant with congestion control algorithms especially suitable for high-speed, long-distance links.

Scientists at the California Institute of Technology developed FAST TCP, which is compatible with today's Internet. It uses queueing delay instead of loss probability as a congestion signal, which is thought to be easier to measure in networks with high bandwidth-delay product.
