Fontographer
From Free net encyclopedia
Fontographer is a software application used to design fonts, available for both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh platforms.
Fontographer was originally developed by Altsys for the Apple Macintosh. Released in 1985, before Adobe Illustrator, it was the first commercially available Bézier curve editing software.
On January 1995, Altsys was acquired by Macromedia. Although development of the software was frozen since 1998, when version 4.1 was released, many font designers continued to use it.
On May 2005, FontLab Ltd. announced that they have licensed distribution rights from Macromedia, and have resumed development. They are currently selling Fontographer along with their other products.de:Fontographer pt:Fontographer
