Gary Sick

Gary G. Sick (1935-) is an author, executive director of the Gulf/2000 Project, and Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at the School of International & Public Affairs at Columbia University. He served on the staff of the National Security Council under Presidents Ford, Carter, and Reagan. He also served as principal White House aide for Persian Gulf affairs from 1976-1981.

Sick is a retired captain in the US Navy and former Deputy Director for International Affairs at the Ford Foundation. He holds a PhD from Columbia University in political science.

He is especially involved in US policymaking vis a vis Iranian affairs, and has authored two books on this topic.
