From Free net encyclopedia

The Greater Sunda Islands are a group of islands in the west part of the Malay Archipelago. Islands in the group include:

  • Borneo
  • Java
  • Sulawesi
  • Sumatra

The group is politically split between Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

They can be contrasted with the Lesser Sunda Islands to the east, and together with them make up the Sunda Islands.
