Space Ritual
From Free net encyclopedia
Template:Album infobox Space Ritual is a 1973 Hawkwind album of recordings taped live December 22 (tracks 8-17) and December 30 1973 (tracks 1-7).
Considered by fans to be one of the group's finest live releases, it features the "golden age" band line up of: Dave Brock, Nik Turner, Bob Calvert, Lemmy Kilmister, Simon King, Del Detmar, Dik Mik and Stacia.
Space Ritual features Hawkwind classics such as Master of the Universe, Sonic Attack, Space Is Deep, Born To Go and Brainstorm. Many of these tracks had previously appeared on the earlier studio albums In Search of Space and Doremi Fasol Latido.
There is also an unofficial later release entitled Space Ritual Vol. 2, which is not actually a sequel but rather a selection of alternate versions of the same material, most probably drawn from the December 22 show.
