Hooper Bay or Naparyaarmiut is a city located in Wade Hampton Census Area, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 1,014.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.7 km² (8.8 mi²). 22.5 km² (8.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.91% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 1,014 people, 227 households, and 187 families residing in the city. The population density was 45.1/km² (116.8/mi²). There were 239 housing units at an average density of 10.6/km² (27.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 4.24% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 93.69% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.07% from two or more races. 0.10% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 227 households out of which 61.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 34.4% were married couples living together, 30.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.6% were non-families. 15.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 0.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 4.47 and the average family size was 4.97.
In the city the population was spread out with 49.2% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 11.5% from 45 to 64, and 5.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 18 years. For every 100 females there were 98.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,667, and the median income for a family was $27,500. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $32,083 for females. The per capita income for the city was $7,841. 27.9% of the population and 28.4% of families were below the poverty line. 30.1% of those under the age of 18 and 31.6% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
