Huyton

Huyton is an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England, and is often classed as an area of Liverpool. It is to the east of Liverpool along the M62 motorway, and is just to the west of the M57 motorway that marks the edge of the town.
Huyton is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 with the spelling Hitune
During the Second World War it was the site of a large Internment Camp which held people under Defence Regulation 18B.
It has one college, four secondary schools, seventeen primary schools. Huyton recently had a new Asda Walmart complex built in the main village centre, one of the largest in Europe. It also has an Air Training Corps, 1982 (Huyton) Squadron.
