IJmuiden (Template:Coor dm) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is the main town of the municipality of Velsen, and lies about 9 km north of Haarlem. The Dutch name IJmuiden means "IJ-mouth".

The headquarter of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij is located in IJmuiden.

The statistical area "IJmuiden", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 28600.<ref name="CBS2">Statistics Netherlands (CBS), Statline: Kerncijfers wijken en buurten 2003-2005. As of January 1, 2005.</ref>
