John Savage (b. John Youngs on 25 August, 1949 in Old Bethpage, New York) is an American film actor, producer, production manager and composer.
His first major film role was as Steven, one of a group of friends who become prisoners of war in the 1978 film The Deer Hunter directed by Michael Cimino.
One of his most famous roles was as Claude Bukowski in the movie Hair (1979).
In recent years he has been seen on the small as well as the big screen. He was the recurring character of Donald Lydecker in the first season of Dark Angel and is known to Trekkies as Captain Ransom in the 2 part episode Equinox from Star Trek:Voyager.
Another recurring role found him as Henry Scudder in the HBO produced Television series Carnivàle. Recently he appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
John is the older brother of actor Jim Youngs and the father of Jennifer Youngs.
