The M57 motorway, also known as the Liverpool Outer Ring Road, is a motorway in England. It is designed as a bypass road for Liverpool.

The M57 motorway links various towns east of Liverpool. Starting at Cronton, at the end of the A5300, the motorway works it's way past Prescot, Stockbridge Village, Kirkby, and Melling, before terminating at Switch Island in the Aintree area of Merseyside. At the Switch Island junction the motorway links with the M58 motorway, A59 and the A5036 trunk road. The motorway provides one of the main access routes to the world famous Aintree Race Course.

Construction of the motorway was in 2 phases, with phase 1 being completed in 1972, and phase 2 in 1974.

The M57 is one of the few motorways in England that does not connect directly to any other motorways - both the M62 and M58 are accessible only via a very short section of all-purpose road. The Highways Agency are currently planning improvements to the M57's junction with the M62 that would provide free-flow links between the M57 and the M62 east of the junction. Subject to approval from the Secretary of State for Transport and funding being available, construction could start in summer 2007, with completion about two years later. This would also have the effect of directly connecting the M57 to the rest of England's motorway network.
