Natura 2000

NATURA 2000 is a project by the European Union and each of its member states to protect the environment.
Part of this project is the designation of special areas:
- Special Area of Conservation (SAC)
- Special Protection Area (SPA)
The project contributes to the Emerald network of Areas of Special Conservation Interest (ASCIs) set up under the Berne Convention on the conservation of European wildlife and natural habitats.
