A pass (as a noun) can refer to:

Passing or to pass (as a verb) can refer to:

  • in sports, the above context of making a pass is also called passing
  • in other games, giving up one's turn, or in any context giving up a chance at something ("I'll pass on lunch today, I'm too busy.")
  • as a student, achieving an acceptable grade on a test or in a course ("I'm passing English class this semester.")
  • while driving, overtaking a slower car in a separate lane ("That car's passing me on the left.")
  • passing is a term describing people being accepted as a member of another gender or race, or to appear as not having a certain disability or similar.
  • passing means to cause to circulate ("He was arrested for passing forged banknotes.")
  • passing off is a common law tort which can be used to enforce unregistered trademark rights.
  • passing away is a euphemism of dying
  • the process of digestion
