Peter Vischer (the Elder) (~1455 - 1529) was a significant German northern Renaissance sculptor who was the father of Peter Vischer the Younger. He was buried in the Rochusfriedhof of Nuremberg, his home town. There is also a school in this town named after him, as well as a street. In the Church of St. Sebald, Nuremberg, the bones of saint after which this church was named lie in a tomb made by him and his son, Peter Vischer the Younger.
