Peter Wilhelm Lund
From Free net encyclopedia
Peter Wilhelm Lund (1801 – 1880) was a Danish zoologist and paleontologist.
He travelled to Brazil in 1833 on an expedition and settled for health reasons in Lagoa Santa in Brazil, where he would stay until his death.
His interest in paleontology accounts for his exploring many caves in Minas Gerais. In 1834 he discovered the bones of a prehistoric hominid that was later named the Lagoa Santa Man in the Lapinha grotto.
