Prince Carl of Sweden, Carl Gustaf Oscar Fredrik Christian (January 10, 1911 - July 23, 2003), Duke of Östergötland, was the youngest child of Prince Carl of Sweden and Norway, Duke of Västergötland and Princess Ingeborg of Denmark. To distinguish himself from his father, he was widely known as Carl Jr.
When Prince Carl married Countess Elsa von Rosen on July 6, 1937 at Kvillinge, Sweden, he had to relinquish his succession rights and his royal titles. His brother-in-law King Léopold III of the Belgians conferred upon him the title Prince Bernadotte of Belgium the same year. This title exists only in the Belgian nobility. Carl divorced Elsa in 1951. He married secondly to Ann Margareta Larsson (b. Danderyd March 22, 1921, d. 1975) at Danderyd, Sweden November 1, 1954. They divorced in 1961. His third and final marriage was at Rabat, Morocco, June 8, 1978 to Kristine Rivelsrud (b. Eidsfoss, Norway April 22, 1932).
