- In internet slang, ROR is a corruption of LOL. It stands for "raughing out roud", and is popular at Kuro5hin and Slashdot. Some refer to it as the "Japanese LOL", making fun of Japanese pronunciation of 'L' consonants, popularly known as Engrish.
- In computer programming, ROR is an Intel x86 bitwise instruction which rotates bits of the destination operand the specified number of positions to the right
- ROR also stands for Societatea Româna de Radiodifuziune, a member of the European Broadcasting Union.
- In legal terminology, ROR is an abbreviation for release on own recognizance. See personal recognizance.
- RoR also stands for Ruby On Rails, an open source web application frameworks.
- ROR also stands for "Resources Of a Resource", an XML format for describing common website objects to the search engines (e.g. sitemaps, products, services, articles, feeds, contact, etc)
- RoR is a shortened form for Rhythms of resistance, a percussion band.
