The State University of New York at Canton (SUNY Canton), located in the Town of Canton in St. Lawrence County, New York, is the former Agricultural and Technical Institute at Canton. It was founded in 1906 as the School of Agriculture at St. Lawrence University. SUNY Canton is transitioning from a two-year to a four-year college. It currently offers eight four-year degrees with plans to double that number during the next academic year.

In addition to 25 associate degree programs, nine one-year certificate programs, SUNY Canton offers a Masters of Business Administration in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica. The College has also recently embarked upon articulation agreements with Lomonosov Moscow State University and Osaka College of Foreign languages and International Business in Japan, allowing international scholars the option to obtain a SUNY Canton degree locally, or abroad.

SUNY Canton will be marking its 100-year anniversary in 2006 and has already begun celebrating with its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow.

SUNY Canton is northwest of the Village of Canton on the Grasse River.
