Salmonidae is a family of ray-finned fish, the only family of order Salmoniformes. It includes the well-known salmons and trouts; the Atlantic salmons and trouts of genus Salmo give the family and order their names.

Together with the closely-related Esociformes (the pikes and related fishes), the Salmoniformes comprise superorder Protacanthopterygii.
