Shobna Gulati

Shobna Gulati is an English actress, writer and dancer. She was born in Oldham, Greater Manchester, in 1966.

She played the part of Anita in the TV comedy series Dinnerladies. She has also appeared in Rani Moorthy's play Dancing Within Walls. She is best known for appearing in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street in the role of Sunita Alahan the shop assistant, joining the cast in 2001.

Shobna has also appeared on the TV quiz shows Call My Bluff and Have I Got News for You. In early 2006 she took part in musical reality show Soapstar Superstar. At the end of 2005, it was announced that she would be leaving Coronation Street. Her last appearance was in the episode broadcast on February 1st 2006. At the end of February it was revealed that she would be joining the cast of ITV feel-good drama "Where the Heart Is".Template:England-bio-stub Template:UK-actor-stub
