South Kalimantan

South Kalimantan (Indonesian: Kalimantan Selatan often abbreviated to Kalsel) is one of the provinces of Indonesia. It is one of four Indonesian provinces in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo. The capital of this province is Banjarmasin.
The province has a population of 2.97 million (2000 census).
There are 11 regencies (kabupaten) in South Kalimantan: Banjar, Tanah Bumbu, Kotabaru, Tanah Laut, Barito Kuala, Tapin, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu Sungai Utara, Balangan, and Tabalong. This province has an administrative city, Banjarbaru.
