Southern Europe

Southern Europe is a region of the European continent, typically referring to European territories with coastline on the Mediterranean Sea.
Although there is no precise definition, the UN regional categorisation scheme for statistical purposes coincides with general notions of which states constitute Southern Europe:
- The Iberian Peninsula
- The Italian peninsula
- The Balkan Peninsula
- Albania
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Croatia
- Greece
- Republic of Macedonia
- Serbia and Montenegro
- Slovenia
- the European part of Turkey (Rumelia (Trakya)) *
- The Mediterranean States:
