Baltimore Polytechnic Institute

Opened as Baltimore Manual Training School, it was originally founded in 1883 as an all-male institution, and become a coeducational in 1976. The school racially integrated in 1952, becoming the first public high school to do so.
The Baltimore chapter of the Algebra project is active at Poly and many other Baltimore-area high schools, such as Baltimore City College.
City-Poly Game
Poly and Baltimore City College has one the oldest high school rivalries in the United States. Orginally played on Thanksgiving Day, the City-Poly game has now become a regular November tradition in Baltimore City with people on each side of the divide hoping for bragging rights.
