Stoddard is a town located in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, USA. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 928.

History
Originally known as Monadnock Number 7, the town was first granted in 1752. It was called Limerick for a short period before being incorporated in 1774 as Stoddard, after Colonel Sampson Stoddard.
In the mid 19th century, Stoddard was home to four glass factories.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 137.3 km² (53.0 mi²). 131.8 km² (50.9 mi²) of it is land and 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.02% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there were 928 people, 400 households, and 268 families residing in the town. The population density was 7.0/km² (18.2/mi²). There were 939 housing units at an average density of 7.1/km² (18.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.88% White, 0.32% African American, 1.29% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. 0.54% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 400 households out of which 22.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.5% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.0% were non-families. 25.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.76.
In the town the population was spread out with 20.2% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 30.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 104.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.5 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $37,639, and the median income for a family was $48,125. Males had a median income of $31,343 versus $25,227 for females. The per capita income for the town was $19,617. 8.6% of the population and 5.3% of families were below the poverty line. 10.3% of those under the age of 18 and 10.8% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
