Originally called Charlottenburger Chaussee, the Straße des 17. Juni (or in English: "Street of June 17th") is a major boulevard in central Berlin, Germany. It is the western continuation of "Unter den Linden", which stops at the Brandenburg Gate. Halfway through the street is the Berlin victory column. At the Brandenburg Gate was part of the Berlin Wall which closed the Gate and formed the border to East Berlin.

In West Berlin the street was re-named "Straße des 17. Juni" to commemorate the uprising of the East Berliners on June 17, 1953. The revolt had been mainly targeted against raises in work quotas, although later demands became political. It was later understood by the western media as a direct uprising against the Soviet Union and the government of East Germany.

Until 1990, June 17 was, as German Unity Day, a national holiday in West Germany.de:Straße des 17. Juni it:Strasse des 17. Juni no:Strasse des 17. Juni pl:Straße des 17. Juni
