Super Cup
From Free net encyclopedia
There are several Super Cups:
- European Super Cup, a trophy for the top European football team
- Asian Super Cup, its Asian equivalent
- CAF Super Cup, its African equivalent
- Super Cup, an English football tournament held in 1985-86
- Super Powers Cup, an annual international Rugby Union competition contested by national teams from Canada, Japan, Russia and United States. In 2005 its name was changed to the Super Cup.
The name is also used in several European countries for a pre-season sport tournament (mainly, but by no means exclusively, football), involving the winners of the previous year's league and cup, decided either in a single game in neutral venue or in a home-and-away basis.
