Suzu, Ishikawa

A suzu is a shinto religious bell charm, similar to the omamori. Some depict gods and charcters while others are ornate bells. Gods avaible in suzus include sarytahiko, ame no uzume, amaterasu, inari, hotei, and more. The suzu is usually bronze in color but can be silver gold or red. Some are decortaed with asian things like lotus flowers and the shinto symbol, mitsu tomoe. Suzus offer luck and proectection and come in specific kinds. Many shintoists caryy suzus with them when they will be away from a shrine or home altar called a kamidana. They are ofter worn on the wrist or carried by purse/pocket.
