Taichi Kamiya
From Free net encyclopedia
Image:Tai-a.jpg Template:Otheruses4 Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, known in Japan as Taichi Yagami (八神 太一 Yagami Taichi), is a fictional character from the first two seasons of the anime and manga Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02.
He is characterized as an adventurous character that wears a set of goggles, a characteristic that is shared among the main characters in the various Digimon series. The goggles also act as a symbol of leadership, and Tai is the leader of the DigiDestined (Chosen Children in the Japanese version) in Digimon Adventure and the leader of the senior group in Digimon Zero Two. He is the older brother to Hikari Kamiya (Hikari Yagami in Japan).
As a leader, he often acts first without realizing the consequences of his actions. This has led him to moments of friction and guilt between his best friend Matt Ishida (simply Yamato Ishida in Japan), his love interest Sora Takenouchi, as well as his Digimon partner Agumon. However, he manages to do whatever is necessary to rectify the situation, and in times of need, save friends and family from certain doom. He was the bearer of the Crest of Courage. His representative color is Orange and elemental affinity is fire. Taichi was voiced by Toshiko Fujita (Japan), Joshua Seth (English), Jason Spisak (English, Movie 4).
The V-Tamer version is more of a planner and has a partner in Zeromaru (a Veedramon).

Digimon Adventure: Our WarGame
Tai was writing an e-mail to Sora to apologize after a fight they had, accidentally signing the letter "Love", instead of "From". Tai's letter, however, wasn't to be received after Kari sent it because of a strange Digimon who had appeared on the Internet. Izzy came over to Tai's house and they contacted Gennai who sent Agumon and Tentomon into the Internet to battle the rapidly evolving Digimon. Matt, T.K. and their partners joined Tai and Izzy's partners in battling the Digimon, who had become Diaboromon. The letters being sent to the DigiDestined to encourage them were slowing their partners down and allowed Diaboromon to defeat them and escape. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon tracked Diaboromon, who was rapidly multiplying, and were again plagued by the e-mails. Tai and Matt entered the Internet to revive their Digimon and they DNA Digivolved to become Omnimon. Tai, Matt and Omnimon then fought Diaboromon in the Internet, destroying him in the nick of time. Tai's e-mail to Sora finally got through and the two eventually made up.
Between Digimon Adventure & Digimon 02
Image:Crest of Courage.jpg During May of 2000, Tai arrived in the Digital World and gave up his Crest power to free the Sovereigns. As a result, Agumon lost the ability to become MetalGreymon and WarGreymon.
Digimon 02
Tai has grown emotionally by this time. He is much calmer and less likely to act without thinking. Seemingly with a lot of free time on his hands, he often helps out the younger DigiDestined in their quest. When he is not going to the Digital World, he is still playing soccer.
Digimon 02: Revenge of Diaboromon
Tai is the same as the second series. A more experienced leader now, however he still has that ready-for-anything-with-action attitude. In this movie, he seems to be the leader of both generations of DigiDestined now, however, Izzy has more of an understanding of what's going on. So when Tai hears the news of how Diaboromon survived, he is ready to go in the Internet and take him down once and for all.
After the victory on the Internet, the war in the real world begins. Thanks to Angewomon, Omnimon blasts his way out of the Internet, yet the blast (whether it was powerful enough to destroy Armageddemon or not) misses the creature by mere inches. Tai and Matt fall off their Digimon's shoulders. When they get up, they can't believe what a monster they are going be fighting. Omnimon is ready and attacks.
Tai loses hope as he stares at his defeated Digimon, who was, as most believed, the strongest Digimon they had and he now stands motionless after a powerful blast from his opponent. It was only after Sora shook him out of it that he started to try and give his best confidence and hope to Imperialdramon, the second most powerful after Omnimon.
Imperialdramon was defeated even more quickly. After the Omni Sabre was given and the Paladin Digimon defeated Armageddemon, the Kuramon started to appear. Tai was one of the DigiDestined, along with Sora and Matt, who used their Digivices along with the cell phones of the normal people to delete the Kuramon.
In the end credits, the viewer sees Tai yawning with Agumon, Matt and Gabumon with Sora laughing at them and her arm around Tai's arm. The last image you can see is Tai sitting next to Sora and their Digimon on top of the train car that supposedly took the first DigiDestined home again at the end of the first season. These two images seem to suggest that Tai and Sora have gotten together; this seems to be a rather fast change from her relationship with Matt that develops in the final episodes of 02. Regardless, the end of 02's final episode implies that Sora eventually marries Matt. This greatly displeased fans who encouraged the Tai/Sora relationship.
Digimon 02: Series Finale epilouge
Tai became a UN Diplomat for the Digital World and finally cut his hair after all those years. He has one son, whose mother has not been revealed.
