Image:Anna Nicole Show.jpg The Anna Nicole Show was a reality sitcom, starring model and Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith, which debuted on August 4, 2002 on E! Entertainment Television channel. It was cancelled in February 2004 due to low ratings, though some insiders cited "creative differences." The show purported to be a realistic depiction of day-to-day life for Smith, but was at least partially scripted and found her participating in situations clearly contrived by the show's production team. These included trips to Las Vegas, shopping sprees and blind dates.
The show starred Smith, who at the time of filming was considerably fatter than when she had been a Playboy Playmate. The show co-starred her lawyer and alleged best friend Howard K. Stern, her purple-haired assistant Kim "Kimmie" Walther, and her teenaged son Daniel Smith. The program heavily featured appearances by flamboyant and effeminate homosexual interior designer Bobby Trendy, who was depicted as an incompetent and indignant person with a chip on his shoulder. Smith's behaviour on the show often led to speculation that she was abusing drugs and/or alcohol.
