Thomas Bragg

(9 November 1810 -- 21 January 1872) was the Democratic governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina from 1855 to 1859. Bragg later served as a U.S. Senator from 1859 to 1861. When the Civil War began, he became attorney general of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1863.
He was the elder brother of the Confederate General Braxton Bragg.
