Tim Loughton

Image:108717 - 1 Tim Loughton MP.chamber.jpg Timothy Paul Loughton (born 30 May 1962, in Eastbourne Sussex) is a British Conservative politician and Member of Parliament for East Worthing and Shoreham since 1997.
His subjects at Warwick and Cambridge Universities were Classical Civilisation and Mesopotamian Archaeology, leading to a career in the City as a fund manager. He was also the Secretary of the University of Warwick Conservative Association.
Mr Loughton's first attempt at election to the House of Commons was in the 1992 General Election against David Blunkett in the constituency of Sheffield Brightside. Although unsuccessful, he was chosen by the local party board as a candidate for his current, then newly formed constituency in 1995.
Mr Loughton gained 43.9 % of the vote in the 2005 General Election, increasing his majority to 8183. He is currently the Shadow Children’s Minister and a Shadow Health Minister.
He is married to Elizabeth and they have a son and two daughters.
