TriStar Television
From Free net encyclopedia
TriStar Television (first spelled Tri-Star) is an American television production company that was launched in early 1987 by TriStar Pictures (the studio which was then-currently owned by Columbia Pictures, CBS, and HBO) . In December 1987, TriStar Television was bought by Columbia Pictures Television and Embassy Communications, and merged to create the new CPT. TriStar Television was reestablished in 1991 under Sony Pictures Entertainment. In 1994, TriStar co-launched Columbia TriStar Television (CTT) with Columbia Pictures Television as a joint venture. TriStar Television was folded into CTT in 1999 after The Nanny and Mad About You ended, but kept its name until 2000 on Malcolm & Eddie and Early Edition. Today, TriStar's TV shows are now owned by Sony Pictures Television.
