Uraeotyphlidae is the family of Indian caecilians. There are five species of caecilians in the single genus Uraeotyphlus, found in Western Ghats in India.

Very little is known about the Uraeotyphlidae. They resemble the Ichthyophiidae, the main difference are the location of the mouth and the tentacles. All the species are rather small with a maximum length of 300 mm, and have dark gray or brown color.
