Instructions for archivers
How to archive the Reference Desk (instructions):
- When a category gets too big take the oldest questions and archive them.
- Put unanswered questions at current.
- Put the answered questions in the archive page corresponding to its category and month.
- That's all! Happy archiving!
Tips for archivers
Try to minimize the number of edits you need to make to active reference desk. Too many edits clutter up the edit history and make it more difficult for people to track the questions that they have answered or would like to answer.
What you might consider is to copy a chunk of the text from the top you know will be archived, and treat this as the "working set". Paste this into some simple text editor, and edit this until everything looks just right. Then, put them into the archives.
